Torth y Tir offer for sale: Wood-fired bread oven

Torth y Tir community benefit society in Pembrokeshire is offering for sale its Ferma Construction wood-fired oven as part of our project to raise money to fit out a new bakery, which will use electric ovens.

This is a specialist, wood-fired furnace oven made in France and used by artisan bakers. It has two rotating stone hearths, measuring 1.8 metres across. It weighs approximately 1300kg and is supported on four metal legs. Bread is loaded by peel via a door at the front of the oven, while the furnace is located at the rear.

This oven was bought by Torth y Tir in January 2018 with funds granted by the Coastal Community Fund. It was used at most twice a week for 18 months. It is in good condition and has been stored indoors throughout. The oven comes with a connecting adapter flue. There is also a twin-walled chimney that can be purchased separately.

The CCF has consented to the sale of the oven and other assets it grant-funded to Torth y Tir in order for the community benefit society to raise funds for future capital spending on bakery equipment.

The oven’s original purchase price was £13,137. Torth y Tir will consider offers. VAT will be added at 20 percent.
